3 Tips to Scale from 0 to 6 Figures in 7 Months with Dr. Reggie Wright

“Commit to your passion and discipline yourself. Have a time management plan. Embrace the initial rejections, because eventually, someone will say yes. And when that opportunity comes, your preparation will shine.”

This week, Dr. Reggie Wright joined Grant on the podcast to talk about how Reggie built a six-figure speaking business in only seven months.

Here are the top 3 takeaways from their conversation:

How you do one thing is how you do everything.

Reggie has been focused on character development from a young age, and he believes that the people you surround yourself with will dictate your future. For Reggie, this means working with people who believe in hard work and doing it correctly.

Finding a support group that challenges him, finding great mentors to pour into him, and creating space to assess his development allows him to grow quickly when he sets his mind to things.

You can’t hack hard work.

We often talk about the idea that you can’t climb a ladder by skipping rungs. Reggie started on rung one, and through dedication and DOING the work, he could rise to success very quickly.

So often, people want to be good at something new because they have previously been great at something else, but it’s important to note that these things don’t often correlate with each other. Reggie says, don’t be afraid to go back to kindergarten and learn it all again!

Relationship building will always open great doors.

Reggie got his FIRST keynote ever from having strong relationships with event decision-makers who knew him, believed in him, and saw how big of an impact his message could have.

We say it all the time: the speaking business is a relationship business, so how do you get where you want to be? Building great relationships!

Reggie’s story is a prime example of natural growth happening when you’re actively building solid relationships with the people planning events in your industry.
