I became interested in the Virtual VIP offer because I was doing consulting, individual clinical work, and some coaching with managers. I wanted to see if my skills and knowledge were transferable to other markets and I knew The Speaker Lab could help me make that happen. The Virtual program was appealing because I will be working between Albany, NY and Florida and so I want to build a strong virtual component to my speaking business.
Since joining Virtual VIP I’ve learned a lot. I learned how to create a speaking business, a quality experience, and how to put together a solid workshop. Erick really honed in on how you develop your speaking business with rinse and repeat systems. He also educated us on the tools successful speakers focus on. Such as, the quality of your presentation and your virtual studio.
Something that I found super helpful was when Erick said, choose a lane and stick with that. That helped me decide where I want to focus and who I wanted to speak to and why. It was enlightening to learn that trying to speak to everyone you end up speaking no one.
One tangible result was having access to Erick to ask him critical questions about my presentation. He really helped me clean up my slides and create a presentation that was not only impactful but pleasing to the eye. As a clinician, it’s common to have text heavy slides. Erick helped me realize this makes for a less than stellar audience experience. He gave me tips and tricks on how to create a quality presentation and it has really boosted my confidence.
I would recommend anyone who is on the fence and wants to become a successful speaker to join The Speaker Lab. If you want a virtual component, Erick and the Virtual VIP I highly recommend. In fact, I have a friend who I haven’t spoken to in some time. He owns his own company and does leadership training. He does a lot of speaking but yet even he is interested in The Speaker Lab. You see, it doesn’t just help you write a good speech, it helps you think of your speaking as a business and gives you all the tools to run the business successfully.
I’ve been impressed with everyone in TSL. The fact that the role of Director of Student Success even exists tells you a lot about the company. They care about continuing to offer a high quality experience. They really care about the success of their students.
