Student Success Stories: Lola Adeyemo

Here at The Speaker Lab, our goal is to help you get Booked and Paid to Speak. Our Student Success Stories share first hand experiences from our students of how they’ve booked paid speaking gigs and grown their businesses by applying the concepts they learned in our courses.

Why did you join the Elite Booked and Paid To Speak Program?

I joined in June of 2021 because even though I had been speaking, I didn’t have a speaking business. I really enjoy speaking and when people asked me to come and speak at their corporation I was always happy to accommodate. I would even rearrange my own schedule and make myself available in order to speak. I knew I loved to speak but I had a deep desire to understand how to become a professional speaker. I wanted the confidence to call myself a professional speaker. That is why I joined The Speaker Lab because I knew they would give me all I needed to turn my love for speaking into a successful business.

What were some of your A-ha’s and takeaways?

My very first meeting with my coach was when I realized that this is going to be impactful to every area of my business. In the first module, I realized I didn’t have to separate being a speaker from everything else I was doing in my business, which is consulting and operation. Instead, my coach had me focus more on my why. She asked me critical questions like What is your, why? What are you trying to do? It gave me the clarity to see how my speaking business fits into what I had already been doing.

The other takeaway is the network of speakers and coaches TSL provides. To have a community to ask questions and get support from has been so valuable. I don’t know a lot of speakers, well, now I do, but before TSL there weren’t too many people who understood what I was trying to do. Having the network of other speakers has been really wonderful.

What is your new normal as a professional speaker?

Confidence! I am still evolving, but I didn’t have a website, now I do. I didn’t add the word professional Speaker to my title now I do. I am able to confidently post my website and demo reel on social media via LinkedIn which is my main social media platform. I have generated opportunities from my website outreach. Instead of waiting to be asked to speak, I have been able to confidently put my message together and myself out there. I would have never posted my information on my social media let alone have the confidence to navigate that phone conversation with the event planner if it wasn’t for this program.

I would recommend The Speaker Lab to…

Anyone who enjoys speaking but wants to get more clear on their message. The Speaker Lab will give you the confidence and clarity you need to be successful. I have gotten support every step of the way. I was hesitant at first. I wasn’t sure if I was ready or if the Elite Booked and Paid To Speak program would give me what I needed to take my speaking to the next level. Between the community, the content, and the coaching not only was I able to get through the program but now I am getting booked and paid to speak regularly.
