Tell us about yourself; who are you and what do you do for fun?
I am passionate about helping clients develop their brands to get desired results. Yes, I love my company and the work we do. I love to horseback ride on my horse, Sofie; walk my dog, Daisy; bike ride; read; write; and play around in my garden. I love spending time with my husband, Steve, and my daughters and their spouses: Sara (husband Ross and their daughter Reese, born in 2017), and Lauren (husband Matt). Family means the world to me.
What got you into speaking? Is it what you expected?
Being in marketing, advertising, communications and public relations, I’ve always been in front of an audience informing, training, educating, influencing etc. It is always full of surprises, so, in many ways, the audience, venue, and content cannot always fall into a predictable space. Having to adapt to whatever it is I thought it would be to what it turns into can be a challenge and exciting.
What has been your biggest success as a speaker so far?
My biggest success as a speaker so far has been “Hitting the ball out of the park,” as one attendee told me after I spoke to a group of about 60. The audience was engaged, interested, and loved my talk. My goal now is to continue the magic of connecting with the majority of the people in a room each and every time.
What was your biggest struggle before finding The Speaker Lab?
Before The Speaker Lab, I really struggled with finding the proper format to reach out to potential clients.
How has The Speaker Lab helped you and your business?
The Speaker Lab has helped me develop a speaker website, put a plan in place for sending out communication to potential clients, working that plan, and feeling confident that I have something to offer that will add value.
What is your number one goal over the next 6 months to a year?
To develop a pattern, momentum and consistency in how I reach out to potential audiences that will enable me to secure at least one quality speaking engagement a month.
