3 Tips for Balancing Your Energy to Achieve Your Goals from Angie Besignano

The key is to learn how to fulfill your own energetic needs instead of relying on others to do it for you.

Angie Besignano is one of our coaches here at TSL who joined Maryalice on the podcast this week to talk about energy management and success.

Here are the top 3 takeaways from their conversation.

Balance your boat.

When thinking about our energy and protecting it, it’s crucial to think of our lives like a boat. Whether the coming changes are good or bad, too much of a change can and (potentially will) make the boat capsize.

We can experience great highs and lows. Think about the idea of bringing a new baby home. When you do that, there’s so much energy around the process, but too much of a good thing can be a bad thing!

Leverage the 3,2,1 rule.

Resting and sleeping are two different things, and learning how to rest before you sleep helps you get productive, restorative sleep. So here’s the 3,2,1 rule.

3 hours before bed, no eating,

2 hours before bed, no working.

1 hour before bed, no screens or watching.

This rule helps you to create habits to unplug, rest, and get in the zone to create space and routine where you can thrive.

Pro tip:

  1. Try practicing it for 14 days.
  2. See what happens.
  3. If it isn’t working, try something else. If it is working, stick with it!

The key to managing your energy is learning to listen to your body and intuition to create habits that balance and fuel your energy needs.
