3 Tips for Using AI as a Speaker from Lauren Teague

“AI is not new and it also is very new.”

Lauren Teague is a highly sought-after marketing strategist, speaker, and Brand to Fan podcast host. She sat down with Grant to chat about how she uses AI to work more efficiently, her predictions of what we’ll use AI for in the future, and how she thinks speakers can use AI to increase their impact.

Here are the top 3 takeaways from their conversation:

Embrace the Power of AI

Lauren believes that, like NFTs and Cryptocurrency, AI is both new and not new. It’s been around for years, but we have just recently started to scratch the surface of what is capable when we interact with it.

For Lauren, AI is a way to cut down on repetitive tasks and skyrocket her output from the same amount of effort. She uses AI tools like PICTORY AI and Castmagic.

Her use cases include generating transcripts, social media content, outlines, newsletters, and more.

Use Clear Instructions & Delegation

When it comes to leveraging AI, it’s important to treat AI like a great intern. AI is capable of a lot but needs very clear, detailed instructions and expectations. The pro with AI is that as you train it and work with it more frequently, it will be able to pick up on your habits and style over time.

As you think about leveraging it, it’s essential to provide specific instructions and delegate tasks effectively. Language models like OpenAI’s chat GPT and Meta’s Llama benefit from clear prompts tailored to the desired output, whether it’s generating written content or helping with marketing copywriting.

Writing Still Matters

While AI tools can enhance writing by making it cleaner and sharper, they can’t replace the speaker in tasks such as public speaking or presenting. Writing remains an integral skill, and content creators should focus on using AI as a partner rather than a substitute.

For Lauren, this looks like using AI to generate outlines and talking points she can fill in around. Then, she can use AI to pick apart that larger piece of content to create digestible pieces for social, newsletters, etc.

“Technology doesn’t take away the human element, it enhances it. And I think that’s what I’ve experienced personally with using tools like PICTORY and Castmagic. It’s not about replacing me as a speaker, it’s about amplifying my message and reaching a wider audience.”

While AI can still feel a little too far out there for some people, it’s quickly becoming a really valuable tool for speakers. Want to learn more about how Lauren uses AI in her speaking business?
