Molly Fletcher’s Tips For Building a Speaking Business

Molly Fletcher joined us on the podcast this week to share her speaking story with our listeners. For Molly, getting into speaking was more of a natural course of taking the next step versus having a deep desire to be on stage and share messages with crowds.

Either way, Molly shared everything from how she got into it, what she does to prep for a gig, how she built a lot of initial momentum for her business, what it’s like to be a female in the speaking industry, and more.

If you haven’t tuned in to the whole episode, we highly encourage you to check it out here.

During the episode, Molly shared a ton of valuable insights about building her career, writing books, and empowering audiences to create change in their own lives. One of the things Molly and Grant dug into was Molly’s career history.

Molly has spent most of her career in male-dominated careers, and one of the things she said really stuck out to us… So, if you’re a female looking to explore speaking, here’s your sign to go after it.

“Well, I would say we do need more women out there. We need strong women that are in front of other women and men, but because it helps inspire some of these younger women. One of the number one reasons women are coming out of the workforce and hitting a jack is because they don’t see other women doing what they want to do. So I think for strong women to be in the front of the room and tell their story, we need more of that, for sure.

My advice would be, if it’s something that you want to do, identify, what are you uniquely positioned to talk about? I think one of the biggest mistakes sometimes people make is they come out of the gates with a website with, like, five topics, and I did that and I could talk about. To me, it’s sort of what is the one thing that you are super uniquely positioned to talk about and then go hard in that direction and put a stake in the ground, stand for that, and be that person that when people think about leadership, culture change, picture that they think about you.

And I think that’s what my advice to young women would be. What is that one thing that only you can really speak to in a way that is authentic to you and then put a stake in the ground and go there?” – Molly Fletcher

If you dream about getting on stage and changing lives, this is your year to do it. 💪
